Thank you for posting this, Satya. It is beautiful. More and more women are coming into our own as mother calls. Somehow we need to balance the yin and yang within ourselves and with each other. Can't have an overload of yang or yin :) A group I used to meet with would honor both the sacred female and male in each of us. I found this profoundly moving!
The feminine in me recognizes and honors the feminine in you. And the masculine in me recognizes and honors the masculine in you. hugs, Sprite
This truly evokes the Sisterhood for me…it echoes the different groups of which I've been a part as well as the random sisterhood moments which simply occur when women's hearts unite for whatever reason.
What a beautiful way to wake up today, Satya. Truly we must be singing this song from the rooftops, because She is calling. We must answer with our bodies, our spirits, our lives, our intention. Thank you for this video. I am sending over to the Temple circle. It also evokes a sweet memory of singing this chant with Robert Gass and Inanna at his concert in Portland ME a couple of years ago. The wonderful thing about Robert Gass in concert is that it isn't a concert, it's a cosmic chanting circle!
This theme of the feminine energies coming into focus on the earth now to balance a dominance of male energies that has ruled humanity on our planet for some time has been a reoccuring theme for me the last week or so. I've been listening to The Journey Beyond Enlightenment by Stuart Wilde (one wild and fringe guy - by his own admission) and he is convinced this is happening. Many believe “something” is happening NOW - Eckhart Tolle talks about how necessary awakening is NOW (before being a rare luxury), the 2012 prophecies, etc.
Truly, none of us is one gender or another. We have a physcial gender, which is the way our body expresses and we have an emotional, feeling gender. Many women have had to focus on the male aspects of their gender to make their life work contributions as required.
I really don't stress about changes and continue to live as “well” as I personally can muster and improve where I disappoint myself. Change is constant and always has been, insects metamorphasis, trees bud and drop leaves, plants bloom and fruit, sentient beings develop through stages. It may be occuring at a more intense or faster rate now.
Just this morning as I sat on my back porch, aligning myself with the formless beingness evident in the quiet of nature all around me, contemplating wholeness, the leaves and the spaces between the leaves, I connected with the rural people who lived here before and recognized that their lives were predominantly slower, more in tune with the cycles of nature and the changes of weather. I realized that for me, that stillness and space they took so for granted, is found within now and it is a welcome contrast to the hectic noise in my household of 2 young boys and the frenetic pace of our recycled materials business.
I discovered that I was what could be called Pagan (almost 2 yrs ago now) just before joining Gaia. I had never labeled what I am or do before that. Someone else identified me as such and I learned that Paganism is a religion that is not Jewish, Christian, or Islamic and self-identifies as Pagan. In the early days, it referred to a rural person, as those people not living in cities were much slower to embrace the more organized religions of Christianity and Islam.
There are aspects of Christian theology that do not clash with my beliefs and it is a religion that I have more understanding of than other major religions. The rituals of the Episcopalian church in which I was raised were fondly embraced in my heart as a child. I now practice a personalized version of metaphysics. Mostly, I do this at my sacred place (ground sanctified by a Unitarian Humanist minister when I married my husband). This place has a quiet pool, a waterfall, a witness tree, and a sitting rock on the natural circle of gravel in the sheltered cove alongside a creek. It even comes complete with a natural rock altar. I have put much energy there and some Christian ritual remains within my psyche. I also practice as I hike daily through the forest where I live, there are other places here almost as dear as that sacred place just described.
Also in the last week, there has been new thought given to a group few know exists here at Gaia. It was started by a very active Zaadzster, a 70 something year old woman named Peggy, who left after news of the Gaia buyout began to circulate internally. I miss her still. Peggy started an invitation only woman's group called the Grandmother's Circle. We have not been very active. I think we need a more public role. It remains to be seen if this comes to pass but the cultivator (Aley/Enlightened Thinker) and I think it an important group, if it can fulfill it's promise. Perhaps we could be available to any Gaian whose own Grandmother or Mother is not immediately available, as a caring heart for those in need or a word of wisdom, if that is desired. Of course, to be wise is to know there is only ONE wisdom and it isn't a human being.
I very much enjoyed the video. Such a wonderful acknowledgment of the feminine sacred. Tomorrow is the New Moon. Exquisite timing as usual John.
Oh John this is soooo beautiful! I am doing a Goddess Dance to it :-D Thank You so much for Honoring Her, Honoring Yourself and Honoring All of Us.
Thank You for Being~~~<3
PS…funny that Deborah would mention Peggy…I didn't know her…but she's one of the reasons I found Zaadz! I was brought here twice looking for family and friends on the net! LOL, I have a long lost friend named Peggy J!!!
It was Peggy J that I was referring to. Maybe not YOUR Peggy J. She was a very special lady. My second friend here. She had studied under Osho. Imagine. A bit of a wanderer. I miss her.
Indeed that is how I came to find Zaadz…searching for a “Peggy J” :-D I saw how much she was mentioned and loved! Maaan, I wish I would've gotten to know her too! Used to see her comments everywhere too. Studied under Osho! Isn't that amazing! Wishing her well wherever she may be (and for MY Peggy J too, lol)
I also had the same experience as you…in regard to the Paganism…never really knew what that meant till a few years ago…but I'd definitely fit into that category! ;-) And my, your Sacred place sounds absolutely Divine!~~~<3
